Black Women Animate Sets 2nd Annual Black In Animation Awards Show; Jay Francis, Mounia Aram & Tiffany Ford Among Honorees

EXCLUSIVE: Animation house Black Women Animate has set the details for its second annual Black in Animation Awards Show. Titled Lift While We Climb, the 2021 ceremony will see Grammy-winning musician and Steven Universe star Estelle return as host.

Cape Town Animation Festival from October 1st to October 3rd 2021

Mounia Aram flew to south Africa  to attend the Cape Town Animation festival. She was invited to speak on two panels: “The In’s and Outs of starting a studio” with Esther Pearl, Kia Simmon and Deirdre Jantijies and another panel where she spoke to Mary Glasser about how to make your animation travel ready.

Mediaclub: Round table about Diversity

On August 28th at 9am (Paris Time), Mounia Aram will be attending a round table on the following subject: “Diversity in content production: where are we?”

DURBAN FILMART September 2020

Mounia Aram will be part of a panel on September 8th at 3pm (UTC +2) during Durban Filmart. We will speak about the future for Animators in Africa.

Marketing Workshop

Three film schools, the German Film and TV Academy Berlin (DFFB), Maisha Film Lab of Kampala and NAFTI of Accra, five students from every school developed a series of nine episodes, ten minutes each.
Besides “Fresh Craft” three other training initiatives supported by the German Federal Ministry for economic collaboration are going to present their web series or series in development: From Kenya “One Fine Day Films”, from Rwanda “Rwanda Media Project” and from Ghana “Weltfilme” were present.
During the Marketing Workshop held early February 2020, they presented their series to potential market partners from Africa and Europe. Purpose of the workshop was to understand the needs of platforms and broadcasters in Africa and Europe and learn how to market our content.
As one of the experts, Mounia ARAM was there to explain to the student how to market and distribute their films.
